Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU)

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) is the first-ever National University in the Caucasus and the largest higher educational institution in Georgia. TSU was established in 1918. The mission of the university is to establish comprehensive national and international academic values and to support intellectual, cultural and socio-economic development of the society. 

 

TSU offers a wide variety of degree programs for its more than 27.000 students, at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels and short courses offered in English language attracting students from all over the world. TSU has been successfully participating in various systems of the world’s top university rankings over the past years.

 

TSU is one of the first scientific-research institutions of Georgia. It implements about 200 local and international scientific grant programs annually. Research promotion and productivity is confirmed by TSU’s academic journals indexed by Scopus or ERIH PLUS. TSU has a number of programs accredited internationally (FIBAA, ABET). TSU has been evaluated by the EUA Institutional Evaluation Program. 

 

TSU also has many years of experience in managing or participating in Erasmus + in which it has collaborated with most of the GE + EU partners in this project.
