About the Event

Dissemination activity by TU Dresden at Edinburgh IATEFL Conference 2025 with distribution of 1100 flyers and 112 participants informed on DeSIRe project objectives and activities.

 

This is the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (see https://www.iatefl.org/).

 

It is a global professional membership association, supporting teachers and other ELT professionals in their professional development, and provide a platform where they can offer their views, exchange research and teaching experiences and learn from each other.

 

Significantly it has 16 Special Interest Groups which extend the work of IATEFL into several specialist areas. They enable professionals with special interests in ELT to benefit from information, news, developments and events in their special interest areas. The SIGs cover a wide range of interests such as; Teacher Development; Teacher Training and Education, Inclusive Practices and Special Educational Needs; Global Issues; Learner Autonomy; Leadership and Management; Literature; Learning Technologies; Materials Writing, Research; Testing, Evaluation and Assessment; English for Specific Purposes; English for Speakers of Other Languages, and, Young Learners and Teenagers.

 

The 2025 IATEFL International Conference in Edinburgh was attended by approximately 2,000  professionals from over 100 countries representing almost 1400 (mainly HEI) institutions. The conference took place from April 8th to 11th 2025, with a pre-conference events on April 7th.

 

For our project TUD, with support from De Vinci higher education Paris distributed over 800 DeSIRe flyers to participants hand to hand, and from containers.

 

DeVinci also focused on the DeSIRe project link during their three presentations. 112 participants were in attendance in 3 presentations.

Additionally posters were exhibited at the IATEFL Conference Poster Exhibition TUD would like to thank DeVinci for affording us this opportunity and support from our Vanadzor State University Coordinator.

 

TUD also approached Voice Books  (www.vicbooks.cloud) with the option of them using our project outputs and thus ensuring both dissemination and sustainability.
