About the Event

In July 2025, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University held a series of eight training sessions within the framework of the Erasmus+ project “Development of Soft Skills at Higher Education Institutions of Armenia and Georgia in Compliance with the 21st Century Labour Market Requirements (DeSIRe).” The trainings engaged both academic and administrative staff, as well as students from various faculties of BSU.

The sessions were based on modules developed by Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT), Finland, and aimed to foster key competencies within the university community, including:

  • Module 1Media and Digital Literacy
  • MOOC 5Emotional and Social Intelligence
  • Module 4Prioritization and Decision-Making Skills
  • Module 5Creativity and Problem-Solving Skills

Complementary methods such as Photovoice, Six Thinking Hats, role-playing exercises, and group case analyses enhanced participant engagement, encouraged critical and creative thinking, and supported the development of adaptive decision-making skills in real academic and professional settings.

📌 According to student feedback, the trainings stood out for their practical activities, interactivity, and relevance to everyday challenges.

📌 According to staff participants, the sessions supported their professional development, strengthened the culture of collaboration, and introduced effective communication strategies.

The trainings were facilitated by BSU professors: Ramin Tsinaridze, Ivdit Diasamidze, Irine Tsintsadze, and Nani Mamuladze.

The “DeSIRe” project aims to cultivate soft and interdisciplinary skills in universities that align with the demands of the modern labor market and promote the creation of inclusive, innovative, and collaborative environments.
