About the Event

On 7 October, 2024 Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) organised a National in-house Dissemination Event of the Erasmus+ Desire project targeting administrative and academic staff of the University. The aim of the meeting was to introduce Erasmus+ DESIRE project and to highlight its significant contributions to the Development of Soft Skills at Higher Education Institutions of Armenia and Georgia in Compliance with the
21st Century Labour Market Requirements.


To have university-wide impact representatives from all the faculties of University were involved in the event. During the first part of the meeting representatives of ASPU Centre for International Cooperation and Project Management introduced the project aim, main objectives, expected outcomes as well as the structure of the consortium. The participants were also acknowledged about the research that have been carried out within the project to reveal state of the art of Soft skills Needs in Armenia and Georgia focusing on the findings of the research both as a result of desk research and survey carried out among academic staff of Armenian and Georgian Universities.


During the second part of the meeting an active discussion has been held on the observations of the academic staff on the soft skills at ASPU from the perspective of student future career needs. Participants have also been introduced to other ERASMUS+ projects carried out at ASPU with special emphasis on the interconnection within the projects implemented on institutional and national level as well as the role of ASPU in their implementation.


Conclusion: The National Dissemination Day successfully communicated the DESIRE project’s objectives, methodologies, and potential impact on higher education in Armenia and Georgia.
